My Herd

What a week! I definitely needed to see these guys this morning...

The herd came through and surrounded the house just a bit ago. You can tell all my photos are through the glass and the sun really isn't up...or worse yet, that is as good as it gets today. :)

Their fur is really coming in right now.

Hopefully this is signs of a strong and confident Saturday.

Have a great day!

    1. I agree. I have lived closely with them for about 12 years now and it literally never gets old.

  2. Great pictures and how fun it sounds to hang with the herd! The white butts are particularly adorable.

    1. I know. I felt really blessed this morning to see them. And their butts really stand out right now because the fur that comes in the winter seems to be very dark.

  3. That is so cool. We have deer, but rarely see them. When it snows we can see that they have been around though.

P.S. How is Nim doing with his antler? My husband wanted me to tell you that if he looses interest you can rub a little peanut butter on the marrow side to get him going again.

    1. I love how the antler lasts! He has it pretty well cleaned out but the peanut butter is a great idea (especially for the middle section). Tell Charlie thanks. :) I will do that tomorrow.

The snow lets me in on the more secret visitors: bob cat and bear. Both I have seen, but the snow gives them away a lot more. The elk tend to tear up my lawn, so even if I haven't seen them in awhile, I know they are there. I love them.

    1. I agree. I remind myself how lucky I am. I needed a good reminder of that today.
