Leela is trying to look innocent as she creeps in on my work.

I am very far behind and I know I won't get as far as tonight as I have in past years, but still glad I am participating.

  1. I had to laugh at that last picture because while I was scrolling down looking at all those pieces being laid out I was thinking, "I wonder where the cats are?" I just knew they couldn't be far.

As for the cold. Yes we are well equipped for it here. No worries about frozen pipes in a well insulated house as long as the heat is working properly. The pups (this goes for everyone we have had in the past 25 years) do fine until it gets to about 10 deg. Lower than that and they can't tolerate being in it for longer than a few minutes. We've always been able to put fleece booties on them and they are fine with that. We have yet to try this on Walter. I expect he will prance around in the house but when they get outside they seem to forget all about the booties.

As for me I have a great down parka that only my eyes are exposed and a snow suit if I need it for my legs too. My only problem is my glasses fogging up or my eyes watering if it's windy. With the very cold temps we are expected to get lots of fluffy snow. Up to about 12"! Expect snow dog pictures!

Have fun keeping your quilt pieces properly arranged and out of kitty paws!

    Cindy

    1. Oh yes, they have been "helping" but not like last year. :)

I think you are better experienced with temperature drops like that. I think I wouldn't have got Nim into the pad problems we have had for a month now if I had been more proactive when the temperature suddenly dropped that low. I won't make that mistake again. That is great you have a system worked out for yours. I think your snow is much lighters than ours. Ours is packing snow.

I am having a great time. It is going to be hard for me to call it a night on this one.

  2. Leela is a great helper, I'm sure! Ophelia only wanted to steal my chair when I got up to iron yesterday. Other than that she wasn't interested. Smokey was being a good listener. She wanted to get to the window behind the ironing board so I tapped the board where she could safely jump and then pointed to the window, and she did exactly that. She was rewarded with a chipmunk sighting and was very pleased ;)

    1. Awww. Good kitties. Yours sound far more polite than mine. It sounds like the transition to two cats has gone relatively smooth?
