Good morning! Wow. How is everyone sleeping these days? We are all a little tired this morning - not much sleeping at night. Is it the new moon?
Imagine my surprise this morning that things are actually starting to form buds! I didn't think with the constant darkness that was even possible right now!
This Friday I am very excited to talk about the non-profit Caterina's Club. Based in CA, Bruno and his mom saw a huge need to hungry feed area children a filling dinner. This calling has now grown to providing dinner 7 nights a week.
The bio on Bruno Serato and his involvement in his community is really enjoyable. He is one of those people you want to meet! :) He saw a problem in his community and he actively works towards positive change.
There are also three upcoming area events that I am excited about mentioning:
March 8, 2012 - Skagit Adult Day Care fund raising luncheon (another organization that is losing funding)
Speaker is Teepa Snow!
Cost $15/person - benefits the Bradford House in Burlington and the Gentry House in Anacortes.
Skagit Adult Day Care - 360 755 1235
Teepa Snow is one of my most favorite and inspiring speakers in the field of Alzheimer's and Dementia.
March 25, 2012 - 1st Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser to Benefit Mt. Si. Food Bank. I love the Mt. Si. Food Bank. They are a VERY positive local organization and like many social services their demand has gone up while there funding has decreased. I saw one of the handcrafted bowls in our local paper and it was beautiful!
April 28 - April 29 - Chocolate Shoebox participation in the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale! This particular sale will benefit Action for Animals and Precious Life Animal Sanctuary. The Worldwide Vegan Bake sale is actually a week long global event and on their site you can search for a bake sale in your area. I promise even if you aren't vegan you will find something there you will enjoy and the Chocolate Shoebox was a very friendly store when I went out there for the Valentine's Day bake sale.
