Hiking and Cooking

Morning!

It rained an unbelievable amount yesterday. So this morning when I woke up and it was quiet out I grabbed the dog for a quick hike just before sunrise.

I have an entire collection of photos of Nim sticking out his tongue that never make the blog. This one was too good however. I was actually trying to get the snow capped mountains in the background. Oh well.

It is 10am my time (pacific) and it is literally already darker than it was around 8am. We are setting up for another day of rain and I have a day of cooking and baking planned.

Stay tuned...

Oh, and for Thanksgiving I will be scanning in a card from my sister. I don't think I have ever had a Thanksgiving card make me laugh so much. Perhaps because of my current state of life? :)

  1. Glad you were able to get out before the weather turned crappy. Nim is so cute with his tongue sticking out.

    1. Thanks! The rain has been terrible ever since so it was good we got out when we did.

  2. Can't wait to see the card, and glad you got out!

I have a bunch of pictures of me as a kid with my tongue sticking out in just that fashion whenever I was concentrating hard. Sigh. Much better look on Nim!

    1. Actually, I think you will like the card too. :)

I think I saw a photo of me once running cross country in high school with my tongue out and that wasn't the only running one like that.

    1. :) I should do a collection. He is just such a "mouthy" dog. It is always busy doing something.

  5. I believe they said something on our news about the rain you were having out there, that it was even an unusual amount for WA. Glad you got to get out for a bit.
I love the tongue shots. They're so funny!

    1. I know! I was reading it was a high amount for us too. It is a good start to the snow season but I don't even snowboard really anymore.

    2. That's on my to do list, learn to snowboard whenever I do move. By then I might be 60, will that matter?lol I've always wanted to do it though.

    3. I personally think you can try anything at any age (note I am not 60 yet) I just think you have to be respectful of your body. Honestly we should be at any age...but the body is just so much more resilient when it is younger. I pushed it far more snowboarding in my 20s and that is hands down the worse falls I have taken in any activity I have done. But into my 30s I just started slowing down how I rode and I stopped taking the really painful edge catching falls. I will never been an expert level snowboarder and it is OK. :)
