Scrappy Stars Quilt

Finally completed a quilt so I could try it with the old-time photo converter. Very fun. :)

I have to admire the woman that put this kit together with donated fabric because she brought together lot of different fabric that I wouldn't have thought to combine. The stars stood out very nicely once the entire quilt was complete.

Flat Feet Yarn

So I have really wanted to try knitting a set of socks using the Flat Feet yarn by Conjoined Creations. A quilting/knitting friend suggested I check it out at Cultured Purls and just this week my mom got me a "skein" of it!

Now the challenge is going through my knitting magazines for the perfect socks to make with it. There is also a free pattern on the Conjoined Creations Web site but I figure I will first see if there is a pattern I have been wanting to try. Stay tuned...

Laundry

Rescue kitten deals with blanket washing day (favorite blanket is in the laundry) the best he can...

Ruffled Dress

OK, first things first...fun site for giving your photo that old-time look. I need to finish a quilt soon because I think a quilt would be particularly fun. Try this converter out yourself!

Now, the ruffled dress was knitted using Dalegarn Svale yarn purchased at Cultured Purls in Issaquah. The pattern is called "ruffled dress" from the book Baby Knits by Lois Daykin. This pattern and I didn't get along so well; which is interesting since the other pattern I made from this book was very clear.

The confusion came in lining up all the ruffles in the ruffle panel. It was a fine line between poorly written - knitter error - pattern error. However, the final product was very satisfying and it came together nicely...
