What a Monday already! This is that Monday you dread because your weekend was SO not relaxing and you know the work work will not be any better.
This weekend there was a lot of good things however.
One, I treated everyone for fleas...again. Actually, there is nothing good about that, unless all the fleas died. I added Capstar to the regiment.
The cats weren't a fan. Both had an increased scratching and intense behavior. Emile did the worst. He started frantically running the house and when he did finally stop his little ears and feet were hot (probably from all the running, although I never see his pads so red). Anyway, the response is over in 30 minutes to an hour, but I am will probably avoid doing that to the cats again.
Except for some increased scratching (also in that 30 minute to an hour window) Nim did just fine. Then we spent the weekend outside and I am sure he found all the fleas in the yard again. Diatomaceous earth is coming this week for me to sprinkle outside for natural flea control. I have had it.
My gardens continue to produce just a little bit. I love these flowers.
My lemon cucumbers may have a chance as I have them going up a trellis sort of arrangement. Keeps them off the ground and away from the slugs. I can't wait for one to ripen.
It was an active Sunday of wildlife commuters. If you enlarge the photo you can better see the two fawn crossing the stream ahead of her.
Still some spots left on the baby elk. I miss my 4 from last year. I haven't had many baby elk visitors this year it seems.
I have scheduled my next IRS SEE exam - Test 1 - Individuals for Monday August 25th. Yes, I am nervous.
Who is tracking the elk?
ReplyDeleteI am guessing that is the state's equipment. The tribe and a local elk management group also track and takes census. Sadly I would say those two groups are looking more for hunting information than anything.
DeleteGood luck on your test and I hope the flea meds work on all your pets. I go on Monday morning (8/25) for another neurology test. Mine is at 8am (ugh...on a Monday!) so it will be over before you even start your day. I will be thinking of you and I'm sure you will do well.
ReplyDeleteLove the elk pictures. We finally caught a glimpse of our baby deer just a couple of weeks ago.
Cheers,
Cindy
Oh! I definitely want to know how that appointment goes. Sounds like they were able to make it a bit sooner? We will swap test stories...sigh.
DeleteI never get tired of the elk coming through. They just make my day. I have yet to have a camera with me when the clog the driveway, but it does happen on occasion.
Hmm, not sure my comment went through? I'll try again, but more succinctly this time! Love the pics, and good luck on your test! Bet you will do great.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I wonder what happened with the comment? I know I hate when that happens, especially if I had to write a lot. :)
DeleteDiatomaceous earth is fantastic stuff but in case you didn't know. If any gets in the house vacuum it don't mop it. It makes the most impossible to clean up mud if it gets wet.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am actually planning on avoiding house use for now. I read enough horror stories. I appreciate the heads up however, because yes, initially it was going all over the house. :)
DeleteI know you are going to do great on your exam!!!! I want to come animal watch at your house! Beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Brittany! Fall is coming and the animals seem exceptionally active right now. Thank you for your support on the exam. I didn't study as good as I should have this week, so we will see how it goes.
DeleteSuch beautiful like you have going on over there! Except the fleas, of course.
ReplyDeletelife...not like :)
