Tova shirt still hasn't seen much progress, but this quilt is finished. At least it gets the hot pink thread off the machine so I can work on other projects.
The binding was a bit of a "risk" for me in terms of color but I like how it turned out.
Ever since I saw this one site in which the quilter took her project to an abandoned farm to photograph I have been wanting to take my quilts out to new areas.
This turned out to be harder than I imagined. First off, this is one of my "smaller" quilts and I had no easy way to carry it.
It turns out managing a quilt, a camera, and Nim isn't easy.
He spent some quality time in the mud and then wanted to jump all over me (and the quilt) in happiness.
Notice the sky is a mix of sun and storm. Nim was distracted by a cute and curious little dog who repeatedly circled us on the path.
I should have got a photo of the darn tiny dog.
These were my favorite stumps:
I don't know about everyone else, but I am happy for the start of a fresh week. Have a great day.
I just love that quilt. It is cute and pretty all at once. I want to snuggle under it on a rainy lazy day with a bag of chips and a Seinfeld rerun marathon
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I find it curious that suddenly I'm seing quilting stores everywhere and hearing about quilt conventions from people
It was a hot quilt too! (because of the flannel backing). It would keep you warm. :)
DeleteI think there is a quilter inside you. And since you draw you would be one of those amazing ones that designs the darn thing in a notebook. I am not there yet.
It is an awesome quilt, but I will admit, more like what I would choose for colors, right ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat photographs!
These are totally your colors! The good news is that this is about my 3rd or 4th time working more in this color style and definitely the best result so far. It also photographs a lot better than some of my more neutral preferences.
Deletehaha not sure about that but thanks for the confidence boost
DeleteNo problem. :) I am working on challenging myself on my own limiting beliefs about what I can and cannot do. It is good for everyone.
DeleteI like the picture of Nim sitting next to the quilt on the stump. Nice photo shoot.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Oh thanks. :) He is such a good sport, but still would rather run around and cause trouble.
DeleteThat quilt is beautiful!! Love it! I have never been able to sew much less quilt. lol
ReplyDeleteYou never know...you could get into it later. :) A good class is always a fun place to start.
DeleteOh..I love the outdoor shots. Totally worth having to maneuver yourself, Nim, AND the quilt. I would have been paranoid about the quilt getting dirt on it!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I did have fun going to a new place and outside. The lighting in my house is terrible!
DeleteYes, the dirt is a factor. Because I live with cats and dogs I have become better about just washing quilts anyway so people aren't getting my pet fur as well. There was little pieces of stump on the back after the final shot.
